the overall strategy and direction of the company. Previous to FreeGate Jim became a Venture Partner of Brentwood Venture Capital. Jim has more than 30 years of management and development
experience in the networking industry. His past positions include President and CEO of OnStream, the leading ATM access equipment supplier. 3Com in a stock transaction valued at $254
million purchased OnStream. Prior to OnStream, Jim spent 9 years at Larscom as both President and Vice President of Sales. He has also held senior management, marketing and sales positions
at Doeltz Networks, Timeplex, General Datacomm, and Codex. He attended Lowell University and completed the Executive MBA program at Stanford University |

Jean A. Gastinel Founder and Chairman of the Board Jean Gastinel founded FreeGate in December 1995 to provide innovative solutions to bring advanced Internet applications to businesses. He currently
presides as board chairman and adviser to the company. Previous to FreeGate, Mr. Gastinel was general manager of the Xerox/IMPACT business unit responsible for developing image-processing
systems used in high-speed printing and digital copying systems. Prior to Xerox/IMPACT, Mr. Gastinel was director of the SunDragon program at Sun Microsystems responsible for the
development of the SparcCenter 2000 and the SparcServer 1000. He holds a Doctorate from the Ecole Normale Superieure of Paris. |

Jean-Marc Frailong Founder, Chief Technology Officer Jean-Marc Frailong is a co-founder of FreeGate. Prior to FreeGate, he was principal engineer at Xerox/IMPACT, working on system architecture and
image processing algorithms for digital copying systems. Previous to Xerox/IMPACT, Mr. Frailong worked on high-performance multiprocessor systems, first at Xerox, then as chief architect of
the SparcCenter 2000 and SparcServer 1000 projects at Sun Microsystems.He holds a M.S. degree in Mathematics from Paris VI University and graduated from Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris.

Sandy Benett Vice President of Engineering
Sandy Benett joined FreeGate Corporation in December 1998 as Vice President of Engineering. Before joining FreeGate, Sandy was Vice President of the Newton Business Unit at Apple, where he
led the efforts on the MessagePad 2000 and eMate 300 hand-held computer products. His past positions include Vice President of the Newton Systems Group at Apple Computer and Director of
Engineering for GO Corporation. Sandy has developed software at TransImage Corporation, Datacopy/Xerox, Tandem Computers and the Mitre Corporation. He started his career teaching Computer
Science and was chairman of the Computer Science Department at Anne Arundel Community College. Sandy holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of
Maryland. |

Richard De Soto Vice President, Marketing & Inside SalesMr. De Soto joined FreeGate in August 1998 as vice president of Marketing. Prior to FreeGate he was in various senior positions as vice president
or senior director of PC network software, Internet software and telecom companies such as NetManage, Attachmate, Wall Data, Nortel and US West. At NetManage he directed channel sales and
marketing of Intranet and internet products. At Wall Data he was very instrumental in enabling a successful IPO through channel programs. At Nortel he successfully introduced to the market
the first computer telephony product leveraging partnerships with IBM, DEC, HP and Apple. Mr. De Soto has a B.A. in Advertising/PR from San Jose State University and advanced information
systems certificate from Cambridge Technology. |

Marty DiPietro Vice President, Operations and Customer Service Marty DiPietro joined FreeGate in April 1997 as vice president of Operations. For eight years, Mr. DiPietro served as vice president of Operations
at NetFRAME Systems. In the last two years, he was responsible for outsourcing all of the company's manufacturing operations. Prior to NetFRAME, Mr. DiPietro served as vice president of
Operations for Flextronics, printed circuit board assembly vendor. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. |
